A pioneer in the champagne trade, the Ruinart House has stood out due to its unique know-how and history. The son of Nicolas Ruinart, brother of Dom Ruinart, himself named Nicolas, opened the companies first account book on 1st september 1729 with the following declaration, “in the name of God and the Saint Virgin shall this book be commenced.” This entry was to be the official act establishing France’s First Champagne House.
A skilful blend of wines made from the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, \"R\" de Ruinart is a golden, lively, fruity champagne with the subtle aroma of white fruits which make it an excellent aperitif or the ideal accompaniment for a meal at which champagne is the only wine served. The full extent of its aromas will be brought out by a subtle, sophisticated dish such as lightly sautéed scallops.
Tasting note: Pale yellow-gold hue. Lightly smoky and yeasty aromas with apple fruit accents follow through on a ripe and fruity palate with a crisp and long yeasty finish. 12.5% Alc./Vol.
