Mild season, good early rain, quite dry from mid January to harvest. Very low crops of incredibly intense fruit.
Intense ruby with purple highlights. Potent and complex on the nose with spicy notes that mingle with aromas of blackcurrant, smoke, and balsamic nuances. Tastes of cherries, plums, liquorice, and rosemary. Mouth filling and elegant with lots of plumpness and texture. The oak perfectly fused in leaf, wild herbs and ripe fruit.
Three distinct fermentation styles with the components. 100% whole bunch Cabernet Sauvignon fermented in open 7T pots for 20 days, lots of foot work. Traditional destemmed and crushed Cabernet with frequent pump overs and a 30 day maceration. Sangiovese 90% whole berry, 10% whole bunch, lots of foot work, 15 days on skins.
